Grading and Ranking

The faculty required students to attend daily prayers and Sunday chapel services and to study religious works for Sunday afternoon classes. They considered this provision so important that they included attendance at these exercises on report cards. At the end of the year, faculty ranked students by their achievements, a designation that proved to be more important to them than individual grades.
