Graham's Education
Known affectionately by his friends and admirers as "Dr. Frank," Graham never completed his doctorate, but did pursue graduate work in industrialization and labor economics at the University of Chicago, Columbia University, and the London School of Economics. At the University of Chicago, he took classes from Professor William Dodd, one of the first "southern liberals" on race and politics. In London, he studied with Harold Laski, the Fabian socialist.
