Madeline Levine, professor of Slavic Literatures, teaches Jewish studies courses
In 2003, the university established the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies to encourage classes on the beliefs, culture, and history of Judaism and the Jewish people. Through the generosity of Carolina alumni and friends, the Center now has an undergraduate minor with curricular offerings ranging from biblical archaeology to the history of the Holocaust to Jews in German, Russian, and Polish literature. It also offers a statewide lecture series and outreach program.
