Course description for Asian-American Literature, from the 1996-97 UNC Undergraduate Bulletin.

In the mid-1990s, in the wake of activism by students nationwide demanding a more diverse curriculum, UNC began to offer courses on Asian American topics. In 1996, Professor Gang Yue taught the first Asian American literature class at UNC. In 2004, Professor Jennifer Ho began teaching Asian American literature in UNC's English Department.
