Archetypal Gateway
William G. Richardson's abstract sculpture "Archetypal Gateway" stands in the woods between the Paul Green Theatre and the UNC Cemetery Memorial Grove. Painted solid black, it is nearly invisible at night and in the shade of day, seeming to appear suddenly in sunlight. Richardson, a UNC alumnus, class of 1975, whose works have been included in annual exhibitions, donated this piece as a gift to the Drama department.
