The North Carolina Arts Commission's Artworks in State Buildings Program selected David Wilson to create a unique work to grace the entrance of the McColl Building in the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. Wilson's massive window spans four stories over the main entrance of the building and is best appreciated from the spiral stairwell inside the main foyer. There, visitors can see how the sunlight shining through geometric and organic forms etched into the dichroic glass casts prismatic beams and reflections upon the interior surfaces of the stairwell. The panes of the window itself change in color and brightness depending on the time of day and the viewer's vantage point, and a view of the nearby woods is visible through the clear areas of the window.
