R. Charles Loudermilk (1927- ) and Loudermilk Hall

Loudermilk Hall at the Meadowmont estate is named for alumnus R. Charles Loudermilk. Born in Atlanta, Loudermilk graduated from Carolina in 1950 with a degree in commerce. He is founder and chief executive officer of the office furniture rental business Aaron Rents. Started in 1955, the company specializes in providing desks, chairs, and tables for corporate clients. Loudermilk has been active in the Atlanta community and served as chair of its mass transit system. He also owned and managed the Atlanta Merchandise Mart and chaired the board of the Buckhead Community Bank.
